This week we presented at the national conference for the Chartered Institute of Professional Development (CIPD) in Manchester. Alongside our sponsors, Vacancy Filler, we delivered a session entitled “How to become an employer of choice for young people”.
The session gave us a chance to share the results of the youth employment accessibility research with HR and operational professionals.
The issues we were raising on behalf of young people resonated with the audience with many of them sharing their own struggles to attract candidates and their difficulties in retaining them too.
There was a lot of interest in our work when we shared young people’s experiences of applying online and what their expectations are, including their criteria for choosing an employer.
