New Year, New Starter: Meet Sarah

We’re starting 2021 by welcoming a new member to our team. We first met Sarah at Loughborough University during a talk on social enterprises whilst she was studying international relations.

Since then, Sarah has completed a masters and has been an invaluable member of our peer panel. She has helped us with our employment accessibility research, delivered training to employers and most recently, wrote a guide on neurodiversity.

Sarah joins us this month in her new role as a relationship manager. She will be supporting the team on the Gen @ Work programme, promoting the accreditation and strengthening our relationships with employers and educational establishments.

Sarah said: “As a peer panel member, I was able to build my experiences speaking to professional contacts at events and workshops and this was a great way to build confidence and my understanding of the perceived challenges of employers in terms of recruitment and young people.

Working with the peer panel for over a year, I was able to offer my experiences as a young person and vocalise these to companies that aimed to improve their approach to working with my generation. As a peer panel member, I have also been able to utilise several opportunities to train with Access Generation and earn money by working on research projects and this has been a great asset to my CV and something I was able to do whilst studying at University.

Moving into the role of the relationship manager is a really exciting opportunity for me to help expand Access Generation and share the purpose and vision of the organisation with more companies. I hope that this role will improve my skills in prospecting and maintaining business relationships, in turn building me into an even more confident individual!”

Welcome on board Sarah!
