Meet our intern – Chidimma

Throughout the year, we invite our interns to introduce themselves and share their messages to employers. Meet our current intern, Chidimma, who joins us as a Trainee Marketing and Campaigns Manager.

My name is Chidimma Itanyi. I am 22 years old.

I recently graduated from Loughborough University, where I studied Psychology. Rather than continuing my journey in psychology, I have decided to venture into the world of marketing as it is a career path that I have grown a great interest in.

What your ambitions are for the future?

My ambition is to venture into the world of fashion and digital marketing. I believe the world is veering off into the digital era and I would love to contribute to this. I hope to be able to put my skills both new and learnt into good use and impact the future of fashion.

Why did you choose to intern with Access Generation?

I choose Access Generation as I believe it will present me with the opportunity to implement my skills as well as learn new skills that will benefit me in my future career. This role will provide me with the necessary first-hand work experience I will need to take the world of fashion marketing by storm. The aims of this company are what really drew me into the role.

The idea of giving young people a voice and helping them amplify this voice is something that really interests me. I enjoy helping others and presenting them with the support they need to succeed in their future careers. I believe this company helps open the eyes of employers to the benefits of employing the next generation, as they present a fresh new perspective.

Is there anything you’re excited about doing with Access Generation?

I am really excited to work with Jemma and Sophie, I am looking forward to building a team connection. I enjoy networking and brainstorming new ideas and embracing different opinions and backgrounds.

I am also very excited to work in the social media aspect, I cannot wait to implement my skills that I have acquired over the last few years. I am also excited to start training and learn new lessons and skills. I am very eager to attend various events and network with different
organizations and companies.

What do you hope to achieve during the internship?

I hope to hone my creative skills and be a key and effective member in the team. I would also like to present a new and refreshing point of view to the media and marketing aspect of my role by helping to push awareness of this company on a broader scale. I would also love to improve my communication skills as well as my analytical and presentation skills. I promise to give my all into this role as well as acquire as much experience as I can.

What is your message to employers?

My main message to employers is to take a chance, don’t second guess it. This is the next generation, the digital era, the new world. These are the leaders of tomorrow.
