Young people to benefit from employers commitments
We shared our latest insights on young people’s experience and expectations of applying for jobs with employers who all made a commitment to make their own processes more accessible and supportive.
Everyone who attended this week’s training workshop, which was sponsored by Workvine and supports the Work Live Leicestershire Project, said they would be improving the way they attract and recruit candidates on the back of the research insights we shared with them.
During the workshop, we facilitated groups of employers and young people to share their own experiences of being a candidate and also discuss what a good employer looks like.
All of the employers rated the event excellent or very good with one person commenting that it was “the best HR related event I have ever attended”.
As a social enterprise, we report on our social impact every year and so, when we deliver these training events, we ask employers to tell us what changes, if any, they will make on the back of hearing our insights.
Here’s what some of the employers told us…
“I’m going to create a careers page about our company to give us a face and promote how good we are to work for.”
“I’ll be reconsidering the application process and attraction strategy.”
“We will review the recruitment process to see if we can make it quicker and easier.”
“I’ll be using the learnings and strategies from today and applying them to my work.”
